SteREO Discovery
Push the physical limits of optics with our SteREO Discovery stereo microscopes.
The pancratic zoom unit of the microscope body forms the heart of a zoom stereo microscope and influences the optical performance of the entire system.
In SteREO Discovery.V12, SteREO Discovery.V20 and Axio Zoom.V16, mechanical curves have been replaced by virtual ones. The movable lenses are moved by stepper motors and positioned precisely by a processor. The microscopic image remains significantly sharper across the entire zoom range.
This has major advantages for your research applications:
Noticeably more relaxed viewing of 3D images in the stereo microscope. The partial images generated for our eyes are much sharper and better coordinated. The effort required by the brain to create a spatial image is correspondingly lower. Sharper images result in improved contrast. This is particularly important when the microscope is used at high and highest magnifications. Microscopy right up to the limits of useful magnification.
Higher magnifications thanks to larger zoom ranges
Whereas a zoom factor of 16 was previously considered the technical limit, this barrier has now been significantly exceeded with the new technology. There is a new benchmark for performance in demanding stereo microscopy: a zoom factor of 20.
With the electronically controlled Pankratium, Carl ZEISS has set a milestone in stereo and zoom microscopy. The factor for the widest range between overview and detail magnification.
The microscope: SteREO Discovery.V20.
A development from Carl ZEISS. And a research instrument with which the pioneer of the CMO principle (Common Main Objective) is once again steering the future of main-lens stereo microscopy in a new direction. The development of SteREO Discovery.V20 has transcended the limits of conventional operating principles. Consistently based on a new technological foundation and integrated into the SteREO* generation from Carl ZEISS, SteREO Discovery.V20 impresses with its superior performance profile. For maximum precision and significantly more freedom in biology, medicine and industrial laboratories.
